Who we are

Who HER POV is for

HER POV is intended for adults 18 and older. By creating an account, you confirm you're at least 18. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe someone under 18 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your account

When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (stored by our sign-in system in hashed form; we can't see it), or, if you use Google, your Google account email and basic profile details Google shares. We also create a profile, a Free plan record and a referral code for you.

Your preferences

What you tell us so HER POV fits you: the name you want us to use, your experience level, why you're here, the sports and favorite teams you pick, people you save for Prep Me (a first name, relationship, team and notes you choose to add), players you add to My Roster, saved Prep Me briefings, which stories you've read, and your monthly usage counts.

Analytics

We run our own first-party analytics on HER POV pages: pages viewed, the link or campaign that brought you, browser type, approximate location (country, region, city), a hashed version of your IP address, a session ID and, if you're signed in, your account ID. We also record in-app events, like that a question was asked and how deep. We don't record the text of your questions in analytics. We don't use advertising trackers or sell your information.

Plus subscriptions and payments

HER POV Plus and guide purchases are processed by Stripe through its hosted checkout. Stripe collects your card details and billing address; we never see or store your card number. We keep your plan status, renewal and cancellation dates, and Stripe customer and subscription IDs so we know what you have access to.

Guide purchases

Your email (for your receipt and download), an optional first name, the guide you bought, your acceptance of the purchase terms (version and time), billing country, the campaign that brought you, and, only if you tick the box, your marketing consent (wording version, time and where you signed up).

AI-written answers

  • Story questions, Prep Me follow-ups, some Explain answers, and the sports chat are written by an AI model. Prep Me briefings, Catch Me Up and personal team alerts are built from our verified sports data without AI. Before sending your information to an AI service, we ask for your permission. You can change your choice anytime on You. This permission applies to AI-written answers; data-only Prep Me briefings, Catch Me Up summaries, and personal team alerts do not require AI permission. If you say no, you still get answers built directly from our verified sports data.
  • When it's on, we send the question you type, your chosen explanation level and time zone, and the HER POV story or verified sports data the question is about. This goes to Lovable AI, which runs Google Gemini models. We don't send your name, email, saved people or payment details.
  • Separately, we use AI models (Google Gemini and OpenAI models, both through Lovable AI) to write story explanations and short "why you care" lines from public sports news. Nothing about you is sent for those.

Your questions and answers: where they go

  • Our database: we don't save the text of your story questions, Explain questions, Prep Me follow-ups or sports chat messages, or the AI answers to them. What we do save: your saved Prep Me briefings and what you entered to make them (until you delete them or your account), and analytics events that say a question was asked and at what depth, without the question text (13 months).
  • Your browser: a sports chat conversation lives only in the open page and is gone when you leave or refresh it. We don't put your questions or answers in your browser's storage; that storage holds things like your setup, followed teams, Learn progress and an analytics session ID.
  • Caches: Catch Me Up summaries (built from verified data for your teams, not AI) are saved for up to 6 hours so they load quickly. Story explanations and "why you care" lines are written from public news, saved and reused, and contain nothing about you. Answers to your own questions aren't cached.
  • Our logs: the sports chat's operational log records the type and length of a question and whether verified data answered it, not the question text or your account ID. Error logs record technical details of failures. Our hosting provider, Lovable, may keep standard request logs under its own policy.
  • Third parties: with AI answers on, your question goes to Lovable AI and on to Google's Gemini models. Lovable keeps usage records for each request (time, model, size and cost); in our view of those records the content is hidden. That does not establish that request content is not retained. Lovable and the model providers process requests under the applicable service terms and data policies linked below.

Who helps us

Lovable (website hosting, database, file storage, sign-in, AI model access, and sending our emails: receipts, download links, deletion confirmations, password resets and sign-in emails), Google (Gemini AI models via Lovable, and Google sign-in if you use it), OpenAI (AI models via Lovable, for public news lines only), and Stripe (payments and sales-tax calculation). We share only what each needs to do its job. We don't sell your information.

Their privacy policies

Cookies and storage

We use storage needed for the site to work, like keeping you signed in and remembering your setup on this device. Stripe's checkout sets its own cookies for payment and fraud prevention.

How long we keep it

  • Account, preference and usage data: until you delete your account.
  • Analytics (page views and in-app events): 13 months from when they're recorded, then deleted automatically each day.
  • Support messages: deleted automatically 3 years after your last message on that topic, unless we must keep them longer under a documented legal hold or required recordkeeping (for example, a billing dispute).
  • Order, payment and tax records: as long as needed for delivery, support, and our tax and accounting obligations.

Deleting your account

  • You can delete your account anytime from You → Delete my account, or request it at herpovsports.app/delete-account. In-app deletion removes your sign-in, profile, preferences, saved people, My Roster, saved briefings, usage counts, referral code, story progress and AI-answer choice right away. Payment and tax records, guide purchase records tied to your email, and support messages are kept as described above. Before deleting, use Manage or cancel on You to cancel Plus or download receipts, since you can't sign in afterward. If Plus is still open when you delete, we cancel it right away so you aren't charged again, and access ends that day.
  • When you delete your account we remove your account ID from our analytics. Hashing IP addresses and removing account IDs do not necessarily make the remaining records anonymous: a session ID, hashed IP address, approximate location, browser and pages viewed could still, together, relate to you. Those records are deleted on the analytics schedule above.
