Injury development in NFL involving Joey Porter Jr and Asante Samuel Jr (PIT).
Explain this to me →Reported by ESPN · Sep 11
Where he fits
Asante Samuel Jr. plays for the PIT as a DB, wearing number 22. He's in year 6 of his career.
His job: The team's own depth chart lists him first at left cornerback — that's the order they'd normally use.
Last time out: He was active but didn't record any counting stats. He was only on the field for about 0% of the offensive plays, so he is a situational piece right now.
He isn't on the official week 8 injury report — no designation was filed for him.
Official league data, week 8 of the 2026 season.
